Posted: Thursday, November 06, 2008
USA Track & Field announced on Tuesday that Head Cross-Country Coach and four-time Olympian Johnny Gray has been elected to the National Track & Field Hall of Fame.
Having set five American records, Gray is considered one of the greatest 800m runners in U.S. history. He qualified for four Olympic teams (1984, 1988, 1992 & 1996) and won the bronze medal at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.
Gray and the rest of the USATF Class of 2008 will be inducted Saturday evening, December 6, at the Jesse Owens Awards and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, held in conjunction with USATF's 2008 Annual Meeting in Reno, Nevada.
