Boys Golf Places 4th In CIF Divisional Final

The Wolverines finished 4th out of 16 teams at Candlewood CC in Whittier in the CIF Divisional Final. They shot a team score of 372 to finish behind winner Sunny Hills, 2nd place Santa Barbara and 3rd place Brea Olinda and advance to the State Championship qualifier May 29 at the SCGA course in Murrieta California. Today we were led by sophomore Jeff Wibawa's 68, 2 under, that was the second lowest round of the day. Glen Scher shot 72, Bobby Lange shot 74, Eli Cole shot 77, Justin Kim shot 81 and Ernie Zaferis an 88. This is the first time in school history that boys golf has advanced this far.

Varsity Golf Finishes Second In CIF Western Region

At Montebello CC the Wolverine Golfers shot 371 to finish 2nd to Beverly Hills and advance to Thursdays SCGA qualifier at Candlewood CC. Glen Scher was the medalist for the day with a 3 under par 68, followed by Bobby Lange at 71, Eli Cole at 74, Jeff Wibawa at 77, Justin Kim at 81 and freshman Ernie Zaferis shot 82.

Boys Varsity Golf Wins Mission League Title

In their best performance of the year the Wolverines outclassed the field in the team finals of the Mission League with a total score of 369, to win by 13 shots over 2nd place. Senior Captain Eli Cole is the leader going into tomorrows Individual Final at 1 under par 71. He is followed by Glen Scher at 72, Jeff Wibawa at 74, Justin Kim and Bobby Lange at 76.

Varsity Golf Loses Second League Match to St. Francis

 In a close and well played match St Francis shot one of their all time lows of 186 at Brookside to beat HW 186-188. Glen Scher led for the Wolverines with a one under 35, followed by Bobby Lange, Eli Cole, Jeff Wibawa at 38. Justin Kim shot a 39, Ernie Zaferis shot 40 and Alex Cohen a 42. We fell to 7-2 in league.
