Middle School Swimming
The Middle School swim season is now well underway, with three swim meets under our belts. The Junior High Delphic League has ten teams this year, and the competition once again seems to be top notch. The Wolverines are especially strong this season, with standout returning swimmers such as Kassie Shannon, Andrew Miller, Greg Ha, Eliot Pak and Alan Vucetic. Newcomers, adding unbelievable talent to the team, include Sydney Wong, Eric Lin, Lydia Weber and Justin Carr. The meets have been fun, and although we have a lot of kinks to work out, we have been outshining the competition. Stay tuned for updates on the season.

Harvard-Westlake’s Varsity Girls Dominate against Louisville
Yesterday, the Varsity Girls Swim Team beat Louisville 113-56. The Wolverines took first place in every event, and even without the leadership of Allison Merz, dominated the Louisville team. The JV team had a heart-breaking loss by only 1 point. Both teams were missing a number of swimmers, out due to illness or injury, but performances were pretty solid. Standout swims were preformed by JV “swimmer of the meet”, Ashley Halkett, who had two season best times. The Varsity “swimmer of the meet” was Gina Goldberg, who swam an amazing season best time in the 500 free, coming from behind and touching out her competitor. The team needs to come together and be whole for the tough competition they will see next Thursday, when they meet Flintridge Sacred Heart, last years Mission league champion. The Wolverines are especially strong this season, but everyone will need to swim their best times to handle the Tologs.
