Pick-Up and Drop-Off
Please make certain that your child is at their morning pick-up point at least five minutes early. You should not approach the bus until the bus has come to a complete stop and the door has opened. We have instructed the bus driver not to wait for stragglers; he/she is responsible for getting all the other students to school safely and on time. Please do not flag down the bus if your child has missed it! It is a potential safety hazard to chase the bus or attempt to head it off by pulling in front of it. All student pick-ups and drop-offs must be at established stops.
Conduct
Student behavior at the bus stop and inside the bus should be the same as on the school grounds. Drivers are authorized to take the ID cards of any student whose conduct on the bus is inappropriate or a threat to safety. The matter will also be reported to the student’s dean for possible further action.
For everyone’s safety, passengers must remain seated while buses are moving. Students are also reminded that loud conversation and other unnecessary noise are not allowed on buses, so drivers can hear emergency sirens. Please be courteous to other students. Please keep all parts of your body inside the bus.
Walking to and from Stops
Students should always be good citizens by walking on sidewalks and respecting other people and their property. They should not talk to strangers nor allow strangers to approach them. If someone does initiate inappropriate contact, riders should notify the bus driver immediately.

School Bus Danger Zones
A danger zone exists around all school buses. This is the area where the bus drivers may not be able to see all objects clearly. Atlantic Express has taken precautions to eliminate these blind areas for drivers but we also need your help to make sure no one is injured. The picture will help you become familiar with these areas so you can assist us in preventing accidents. If you should witness someone in a danger zone, please bring it to the driver’s attention before the bus is moved. We must all work together to make our buses and our bus loading areas as safe as possible.
