Harvard-Westlake School is an independent coeducational college preparatory day school, grades 7-12. It is the result of a merger between Harvard School, founded in 1900, and Westlake School for Girls, established in 1904. Coeducation began in September of 1991.

Financial Aid
A total of almost $6.7 million is allotted for aid in 2009-2010. Among the largest secondary day school financial aid budgets in the country, Harvard-Westlake commits approximately 10% of the school’s entire operating budget to provide assistance to over 260 students, a figure that Harvard-Westlake is committed to expanding in future years.
