Web Site:

Info:

Organization or Author Responsible for the Information. Title of Complete Site (found in the blue Title Bar). Date of latest update or copyright if given (Day Month Year). Date of access (Day Month Year). <http://address/filename>.

Example:

U.S. Census Bureau. American FactFinder: Facts About My Community. 21 May 2001. 24 December 2001. <http://factfinder.census.gov/serviet/BasicFacts>.

Special Notes:
- Since Internet sites and resources sometimes disappear altogether, you should download or print out the material you use so that you can verify it if it is inaccessible later.
- Enclose URLs in angle brackets < > followed by a period.
- If a URL must be divided between two lines, break it only after a slash; do not add a hyphen at the break or allow your word-processing program to do so.
- Ideally, the URL of the exact document used should be given. Sometimes, however, the URL of a document is so long and complicated that reproducing it would invite transcription errors or would at least cause inconvenience. In such instances, it is preferable to give the URL of the site’s search page as long as the reader can easily locate the relevant document, given the other publication information available in the citation.
- If an individual is responsible for the information on a site, write the author’s name (Last name, First name) for purposes of alphabetizing.

Subscription Database (Ex. Country Watch, State Geography, etc.):

Info:

Author if given. “Title of Article.” Name of the Subscription Database. Date of Latest Update or Copyright (Day Month Year). Date of access (Day Month Year). <http://address/filename>.

Example:

Rexford, Minnie. “Sound of a Cow.” WavWonders.com. 14 April 2002. <http://www.wavwonders.com/00122.wav>.

Special Notes:
- If no site creator or originator is given, begin the citation with the title      or description of the sound.
- If no title is given, describe the sound as clearly and concisely as      possible and use that as an identifying “title” instead.

Music or Other Sound files on CD:

Info:

Composer (Last name, First name). “Title of Song or Work.” Name of performing artist (First name first). Title of CD. Manufacturer. Date of Issue or Publication date.

Example:

Lange, R.J. “Breathless.” The Corrs. The Corrs in Blue. 143 Records. 2000.

Special Notes:
- If the composer and the artist are the same, omit the artist’s name      after the title of the song or work.
