Collaborative Opportunities :

We greatly appreciate receiving copies of any assignment that may require students to do the least bit of research. This allows us to field questions when students are confused or need guidance.

Similarly, we are always willing to work with faculty in creating successful research assignments that take full advantage of the library’s many resources.

Inter-library Loan:

The faculty has access to not only the Middle and Upper school library collections, but also to those of fifteen other independent schools. Additionally, the middle school library contributes to an international database. As a result, virtually anything is available. If you need something for class or for your own personal research, just ask one of the library staff members for assistance.

Collection Development:

Since members of the faculty are specialists in their subject areas, they are strongly encouraged to make recommendations for materials to be added to the library. Recommendations are accepted throughout the year. Periodically, the head librarian will also invite the faculty to go shopping for books at a local retailer.

Lending Library:

There is a small collection of books and books on CD in the library behind the circulation desk that are current releases, best sellers, popular authors and other items of interest to the faculty.

Other Resources (Toys):

The library has a number of classroom resources available for the faculty to use.

These include hot and cold laminators, a poster-plus machine (enlarges 8.5” X 11” to poster size), and an Ellison die cutter (great for bulletin boards).
