This course combines Intro Photo darkroom skills with new skills using the digital SLR camera and Adobe Photoshop. It extends the abilities acquired in Intro Photo, and empowers students to digitally create imaginative images with graphic impact and poetic meaning.

Introduction to PhotoGraphics
emphasizes the creative connections which link the traditional and the contemporary. It demonstrates that both established and emerging technologies are simply tools. They are means to an end.

It is not the tool or the chosen medium
that makes something a work of art. Rather, art derives it's meaning and power from the intention and authenticity of the artist.

This course emphasizes that exploration, creative play, and direct discovery are essential elements for successful art and communication.
