| Erika Y. (05'): I truly enjoyed this trip. There were no formal classes, but we learned while we went. It was a once in a life time experience. It was so much fun. I made so many new friends and got to see China like nobody else! I would highly recommend this trip to others. | ||||

| Janice K. (03'): It's an enjoyable trip and, despite disparity between the ages, friendships are formed and it makes the whole trip a lot more fun. Dr. Zhou gave everyone a Chinese "common phrases" book and a pamphlet he made to teach us basic useful every day phrases. | ||||

I have been reading various books about Eastern philosophy. So far I have read a book about Taoism, a book about Buddhism, and I'm reading a book about Zen....Do you have any recommendations for other books that I could read that would teach me more about Eastern thought or Chinese culture? | ||||

(02', 9/9/02 e-mail to Dr. Zhou): I wanted to tell you that I just started school here at Wellesley College, outside Boston, and am taking this amazing class called Intro to Chinese History based on novels, mainly the novel Dream of the Red Chamber, which I am currently reading. Going on that trip really sparked my interest in Chinese history, so I'm pursuing it right now here in school, and am loving it! Thanks! | ||||
| Ms. Karen Fukushima (History Instructor, M.S.): It's a great class that touches on many of the historical sites we discuss in 8th grade history and a great introduction to Chinese language and culture. | ||||
| Ms. Hermie Lee (History Instructor, U.S.): To travel to China with Dr. Zhou is an opportunity of a lifetime. His knowledge, generosity, and enormous spirit make the trip so rich and valuable. Be prepared for a rigorous schedule! | ||||
