The "Harvard-Westlake in China" trip provides Harvard-Westlake students a chance to contact modern China and practice their skills of international communication. "Walk our way to see China closely" is our slogan. Although programs varied each time, the studies of Chinese language as well as culture through the well-knit "do-everything-by-self" activities are always emphasized. All Harvard-Westlake students currently in grades from 8 to 12 are welcome. Chinese class students, especially Chinese I and Chinese II students, are strongly encouraged to join the trip. It helps their class studies in a great deal. Students who are not in Chinese classes and speak no Chinese will have no problems during the trip because they learn survival Chinese quickly from the teacher and their teammates.
