HOSTING A FOREIGN STUDENT

This is a great way for families to contribute to international understanding. There are often more tangible rewards as well, in the form of relationships formed with foreign students and their families, who are usually happy to reciprocate and invite their American host to visit.

Many of the organizations listed in our "Summer Programs" site are eager to find host families, both for shorter summer programs and for academic homestays that can last anywhere from a few days to an academic year. Harvard-Westlake has hosted international students for extended stays in the past and welcomes groups of visiting foreign students from time to time. We greatly appreciate support from parents and students at those times.

Contact the Upper School Language office at (818) 487-6644 if this interests you.
