Plagiarism and
Cheating
Plagiarism is the use of another person’s material in a paper or presentation without giving proper credit to the author.
The copying of another’s work inside or outside the classroom and presenting it as one’s own is also dishonest.
Cheating can be copying someone else’s homework or dishonestly acquiring information about a test.
Cheating also includes assisting another student in either of these activities.
Tutors cannot be involved in any way in the writing of a term paper.
Finally, it is academically
dishonest to turn work to a class that was actually done for a different class.
The work for each class is expected to be original and unique to that
class.
Late Papers:
Papers are due in class
on the due date. They may be e-mailed, if the student is absent.
The grade on late papers will
be reduced one level (e.g., from B+ to B) for each calendar day that it is
late.
