Intro to Programming

Welcome to Intro to Programming. This course covers the fundamentals of programming in Java and gives students an appreciation for the task of organizing and writing programs using methods and objects. While Java is the primary language used, JavaScript and HTML are employed to construct web pages. Most of the material is presented through in-class exercises and programming assignments. Many of these exercises are introduced through lectures and multimedia presentations. Each day you will use the introductory material to solve more complex problems. Programming assignments, which are completed in the computer lab, further extend the complexity of the problems to be solved. Our principle resources are your textbook, A Guide to Programming in Java by Beth Brown, a variety of applicable web sites, and our compiler, BlueJ, which you may download on your home computer at www.bluej.com
We will be using our textbook in class every day, so always bring it with you.

Please bring your textbooks to class everyday.

Let’s have a great semester together!
