Slip decoration. Show slides & demo Assign- 1 - Stamped (make stamp) 1 - (mashima) (stamp & scrape 1 - incising (through slip) 1 - Feathering 1 - marbling colored layers and/ or smearing of color 1 - Splashing 1 - Dot Slip decorating Technique for Slab box -rolling pin -sticks- for even equal thickness -cloth covered board -cardboard template -needle -paddles Process: -roll slabs (sticks & roller) -use card board template to define shape of box -dry until minimally firm -join by scaring & slipping -put 4 equal sides together -last 2 sides different so make from 4 sided form 1. roll slab 2. cut slab – using template 3. dry –just stiffen up 4. scar & slip 5. use coil to fill corners 6. use 4 sided form to make 2- ends 7. assemble last 2 sides to make closed container 8. use paddle & wood tool to make box “perfect”, this is possible because of air trapped inside. 9. when firm enough cut lid –show 3 types, irregular, inside, outside |
