Financial Aid Checklist

On the Harvard-Westlake online admission application, indicate that you are applying for financial aid. The application fee is waived for families applying for financial aid.

You can begin your online financial aid application starting November 1st by following steps 2 through 6.

Harvard-Westlake uses School and Student Services (SSS) to handle a major portion of the computation in our financial aid process. SSS is a service of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). Based on the information you provide, SSS calculates an estimated amount that your family can contribute to educational expenses.

• Starting on November 1, 2009, go to www.sss.nais.org and click on the prompt to begin your Parents’ Financial Statement. You will create a user name and password which will allow you to complete the PFS over more than one session.  Therefore, allowing you time to gather the required information and to ensure accuracy. Only one PFS is needed per family regardless of the number of children applying. All material submitted to SSS will be secure.
• New student applications must be submitted no later than January 20, 2010.  Current student applications must be submitted no later than January 6, 2010.  Be sure to indicate that Harvard-Westlake (SSS code 3736) should receive a copy of the results.
• NOTE: If you will be unable to complete the PFS online, please contact the Financial Aid office at (818) 487-6605 to request a hard copy.

If you own your own business, please print, complete and submit the Business Farm Statement.  This form should be sent directly to SSS at the address listed.  Please attach the SSS coversheet to your Bus/Farm before mailing. 

Complete, sign, and submit an IRS Form 4506-T (Request for Copy or Transcript of Tax Form). Please do not date the form. When submitting the 4506-T form, you should print out the available cover sheets located on the SSS website. Mail the 4506-T along with the coversheet directly to:
