Meet the Office

Originally from North Carolina, Melanie taught Spanish and English at a charter school in the West Adams area for several years before joining our Admission Office in 2007. Currently she assists with community outreach, applicant interviews, and advises prospective families through the admission process. She also works with the Harvard-Westlake Student Ambassadors, who host prospective families and speak on student panels. Melanie is available to help Spanish speaking families navigate the application and admission process. In addition to her role in the admission office, Melanie serves as an advisor to new 9th grade students, co-runs the HW Sibs program, and helps coach the middle school cross country team.

Ashley joined the Admission Office in 2004.  Prior to Harvard-Westlake, she completed her M.A. degree in psychology from Pepperdine University.  Ashley works closely with prospective families throughout the application process, including interviewing and scheduling interviews, providing correspondence and assisting with the online application system.  She is also available to help Korean speaking families.

Megan is a New Hampshire native and graduate of Emerson College in Boston, MA where she earned a degree in Television and Video Production.  Prior to joining Harvard-Westlake, she worked in the film industry both in production as a 1st Assistant Director and post production as an Assistant Editor. Megan is currently pursuing a teaching credential in secondary English. As the Middle School Receptionist/Assistant to the Director, Megan welcomes all visitors to the MS campus and works closely with the Director of Admission and Admission Office in daily operations.

Scott joined the Admission Office in August 2012 having worked in international student services at USC for the previous five years.  He also has over 10 years of teaching experience in independent schools, both in the U.S. and China.  Scott manages student enrollment, interviews and advises prospective families, and organizes admission events throughout the year.
