Alumnus Doug Levinson’s 75/25: Three Quarters of an MBA, One Quarter of the Grief! grew out of “Business For Lawyers,” an original course he developed from the ground up, and now teaches at the UC Berkeley and USC Law Schools. It contains 13 short, stand-alone, information-packed chapters that parallel the basic curriculum of premier MBA programs.
“Because business is everything and everything is business, understanding business is exceptionally important,” says Levinson. He developed 75/25 in his ongoing work teaching at top-tier graduate schools – including UCLA, USC and UC Berkeley – demystifying the world of business for students with no business background. "There has been a recent interest in work from the 1970s, a decade in which I came of age as an artist," says Visual Arts Teacher Cheri Gaulke. "I have work from this era in an exhibition called Evidence of Movement, currently at the Getty Research Institute through Oct. 7."
The Getty website provides an explanation of this exhibit.
"My work is included in Close Radio, which was a weekly series of experimental radio broadcasts on Los Angeles station KPFK from 1976 to 1979," Gaulke continues. "I was living in Old Town Pasadena at the time when the area was occupied by artists and winos (that was before the term homeless even existed). It was long before The Gap and Tiffany's moved into the area. We had tons of beautiful sky-lit studio space and paid pennies for it (my rent was $35)." Read More

On Friday night, Harvard-Westlake's Varsity Football team hosted Burroughs under the new field lights at Ted Slavin Field. The Wolverines experienced their third victory for the season and their second under the new field lights. Final score was Harvard-Westlake 27, Burroughs 15. Click here

Harvard School graduate Kevin Ackerman's The Falling Man, sponsored by ESQUIRE magazine, is playing Tuesday, Sept. 11, at 7:30 p.m., at the AMC Burbank 6 Theater as part of The Los Angeles International Short Film Festival.
According to Ackerman, "This is the world's largest short film festival and we the filmmakers love to see familiar faces in the audience!"
Ackerman previously won this festival -- and qualified for Academy Award consideration in the category of Best Live Action Narrative Short Film -- for his film, Lonely Place.
Kevin will be in attendance to present the film, support the festival, and field questions.
