Cross Country News
The Wolverine Boys’ Cross Country team capped off a fine season on Saturday with a top ten finish in the CIF State Meet in Fresno. Once again it was teamwork that was the key to success, as our five scorers came across the line in 29 seconds.

Cross Country News
News Flash
The Boys’ Varsity Cross Country team made school history today by being the first boys’ team since the merger to qualify for the State Meet. The margin was a narrower one than we had hoped for, as our top runners charged through the first mile well under 5:00 and paid for it later in the race, but a lesson was learned and we are off to Fresno next Saturday.
While the girls do not move on, their performance today was stirring. In last week’s Prelim heat, they qualified for the finals only by having the best non-qualifying time, and were in effect seeded to come in last in this race. They ran today for team pride and finished in 11th place overall, a remarkable improvement. Cami Chapus finished 8th overall in the girls’ race, earning herself a trip to Fresno as well as a top individual runner. Congratulations to her and to the whole team.
For parents planning to make the trip, we will be staying at the Quality Inn, 1278 W. Ashlan Ave. in Fresno on Friday night. A list of hotels in the area is in the CIF Cross Country Handbook at http://www.cifstate.org/sports/state/cross_country/index.html

Athletic Reading List
Welcome to the Athletics Reading List. This is not an "official" list of required reading. It's just for you to enjoy. These books are the personal choices of Harvard-Westlake coaches and Athletics staff members. Most of the books are available at the school libraries, local libraries, and bookstores. We hope you will find the time to read some of them. If you have any suggestions for the list, please email them to Scott Bello at SBello@HW.com.
