Box Office Policies and Information

About the Box Office

The Box Office sells tickets to all ticketed Performing Arts Events, on both campuses, in a number of ways. Through our state-of-the-art computer ticketing system, tickets may be purchased at the campus bookstores or online through our web service. Shows are either Reserved Seating (all seats are assigned) or General Admission (first come, first served).

Ordering Tickets Via the Internet

The easiest way to place a ticket order, if you are paying via a Credit Card, is online through our website. Tickets ordered online can be printed at home or held at Will Call, where your tickets must be picked up at least fifteen minutes prior to curtain time or they will be resold. To use your Student/Faculty/Staff ID to purchase tickets, please go to the school bookstores.

Ordering Tickets at the Bookstore

Tickets to any show may be ordered at either campus bookstore. A valid Student or Faculty/Staff ID card must be presented at the bookstore at the time of purchase. Tickets will be printed immediately and should be taken at that time.

Payment

Tickets may be paid for through a Major Credit Card (VISA or MASTERCARD) online or at the door, a Student or Faculty/Staff Account (only at bookstores or at the door), check made payable to Harvard-Westlake School or with cash.

Students on financial aid can have charges deducted from their Draw Account (please notify the Box Office Manager about this before the event date).

Refunds and Exchanges

You may exchange tickets up to the 48 hours before the performance, if there are seats available for the performance you wish to exchange for. We do not issue refunds for returned tickets. However, you may turn in your tickets thereby making a donation of their value. Refunds are not made for not attending an event.

Tickets Held at Will Call

You must pick up all held tickets at least fifteen minutes prior to performance time or your tickets may be resold to accommodate patrons without tickets.

Latecomers for Events

There is no guarantee that a latecomer will have his or her seat available, even if he or she already has a ticket. Tickets are only valid when a patron arrives before the performance starts. Again, if you arrive late, your seats may have been resold to patrons on a wait list.

Why? Because our Upper School theater only seats about 320 people and the Middle School Katzenberg Black Box Theatre only seats about 100, we want to be sure that our theater is full for each performance. We do not want to turn away patrons who are at the theater but do not yet have tickets, therefore, we resell empty seats at the time of the performance. We recommend that you allow ample time for parking and arrival at the theater, and that you plan to arrive at least fifteen minutes prior to performance time.

Sold-Out Performances

If a performance is sold out, a wait list will be started at the Box Office. Tickets frequently become available as we resell tickets which have not been picked up fifteen minutes prior to performance time, as well as the seats of those persons not seated by curtain time. You are encouraged to put your name on a wait list, EVEN IF YOU BELIEVE A PERFORMANCE IS SOLD OUT. We rarely turn away patrons from our performance and will make every effort to get you a seat.

Calendar of Events

An Events Calendar is available through the Box Office web page.

It’s Only a School. Why All the Policies?

As with our productions, we try to instill a sense of professionalism in the operation of our Box Office and House Management. We have found that the above policies work to the advantage of our patrons and our performers. We encourage you to come to our productions expecting a night of good theater rather than a "school performance."
