Box Office Policies and Information

About the Box Office

The Box Office sells tickets to all ticketed Performing Arts Events, on both campuses, in a number of ways. Through our state-of-the-art computer ticketing system, we are able to sell tickets at either campus for shows on both campuses. Shows are either Reserved Seating (all seats are assigned) or General Admission (first come, first served.) Tickets may be purchased at the campus bookstores, online through our web service, or through our telephone voicemail system.

Ordering Tickets Via Telephone

Ticket orders may be placed via telephone. Tickets ordered by telephone will be mailed to you if ordered prior to seven days before the performance date. All other orders will be held at the door for pickup.

Telephone Number: (818) 487-6564

Ordering Tickets at the Bookstore

Tickets to any show may be ordered at either campus store. A valid student id card must be presented at the bookstore at the time of purchase. Tickets will be printed immediately and should be taken by the student at that time.

Payment

Tickets may be paid for through a Major Credit Card (VISA or MASTERCARD) online or at the door, a Student Account (valid ID # required), check made payable to Harvard-Westlake School or with cash. Students on financial aid will have charges deducted from their Draw Account.

Refunds and Exchanges

You may exchange tickets up to the day of the performance, if there are seats available for the performance you wish to exchange for. All ticket exchanges will incur a $2.00 service fee. We do not issue refunds for returned tickets. However, you may turn in your tickets thereby making a donation of their value.

Tickets Held at the Door

You must pick up all held tickets at least fifteen minutes prior to performance time, or your tickets may be resold to accommodate patrons without tickets.

Latecomers for Upper School Events

There is no guarantee that a latecomer will have his or her seat available, even if he or she already has a ticket. Tickets are only valid when a patron arrives before the performance starts. Again, if you arrive late, your seats may have been resold to patrons on a waiting list.

Why? Because our Upper School theater only seats about 350 people, we want to be sure that our theater is full for each performance. We do not want to turn away patrons who are at the theater but do not yet have tickets, therefore, we resell empty seats at the time of the performance. We recommend that you allow ample time for parking and arrival at the theater, and that you plan to arrive at least fifteen minutes prior to performance time.

Sold-Out Performances

If a performance is sold out, a waiting list will be started at the Box Office. Tickets frequently become available as we resell tickets which have not been picked up by fifteen minutes prior to performance time as well as the seats of those persons not seated by curtain time. You are encouraged to put your name on a waiting list, EVEN IF YOU BELIEVE A PERFORMANCE IS SOLD OUT. We rarely turn away patrons from our performance and will make every effort to get you a seat.

Calendar of Events

An event calendar is available on our website at http://www.hw.com/boxoffice or by calling us at (818) 487-6564.

It’s Only a School. Why All the Policies?

As with our productions, we try to instill a sense of professionalism in the operation of our Box Office and House Management. We have found that the above policies work to the advantage of our patrons and our performers. We encourage you to come to our productions expecting a night of good theater rather than a "school performance."
