Harvard-Westlake Video Festival

The Harvard-Westlake Video Festival

The 5th annual Harvard-Westlake Video Festival of Films 2008 is an excellent opportunity for young video-makers of films to exhibit their talent. All students in and around Southern California are eligible and encouraged to submit.

For the first time, the festival is proud to announce that this year's event will take place at the luxurious Arclight Hollywood Theatre. An outdoor reception follows.

Cash prizes and Lizzie Awards (named after the founder of the festival, Liz Yale (‘04)) given to select category winners.

A special guest speaker opens the program. Previous speakers include Jake Gyllenhaal (’98), Jamie Lee Curtis (’76), and Brett Ratner. This year's speaker is TBA.

The selected films are judged by a panel of industry professionals, which has included Kevin Costner (For Love of the Game), Peter Gallagher (Mr. Deeds), and director/cinematographer Lance Accord (Being John Malkovich) in the past.

The festival occurs one evening annually. This year's show falls on Toronto-based actor Rick Moranis' birthday, April 18th 2008. Moranis will be 55. Our festival will be 5 years old.
