About the Head of Harvard-Westlake

Jeanne HuybrechtsJeanne Huybrechts joined Harvard-Westlake in 1989 as a chemistry and physics teacher. Since then, she's taught math and science courses in both middle and upper school divisions, been a grade-level dean, the school's director of studies, and, for five years, the middle school head.  She became Head of Harvard-Westlake in the fall of 2006.

Dr. Huybrechts holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Detroit and a B.S. in Chemistry from California State University, Northridge.  She completed her doctoral work in the UCLA Educational Leadership Program, focusing on curriculum design and teaching in the sciences. Her daughter Catherine graduated from Harvard-Westlake and is now a geographer and founder of a company specializing in geospatial technology services.
