Q. When applying, do I need to fill out an application form and a resume?
A. Faculty positions do not require an application. For all other positions application forms may be found at the bottom of the job description.

Q. How can I learn the status of my candidacy?
A. Each faculty resume is reviewed by the Headmaster. Since resumes are received throughout the year we may not have an opening in your field at the time we receive it.  Therefore your resume will be maintained in our active files for 12 months. Should an opening occur that fits your background, we will contact you. If you have not been selected for a position you will receive a letter from the Headmaster.
For non-faculty positions, your resume will be reviewed by the appropriate department. If you have not been selected for a position you will receive a letter from the Headmaster.

Q. What should I include with my resume?
A. We invite you to write a cover letter indicating your general area of interest, a copy of your transcripts, and references.

Q. Do you hire tutors?
A. No, Harvard-Westlake School utilizes a peer tutoring program. Harvard-Westlake does not endorse outside tutors.

Q. Do you have summer school employment opportunities?
A. No, our summer school office hires current
Harvard-Westlake employees only.

Q. Does Harvard-Westlake hire substitutes?
A. Yes. Generally, the School utilizes substitutes for
long-term absences.
