Harvard-Westlake Middle School Modernization Project

Construction Update
First Phase
Phase I construction began in September 2006 and significantly transformed the campus with the addition of a new library-science building and a new academic building, complete with a state-of-the art performing arts center. The newly modernized campus provides an optimal academic environment for current and future students.

The first phase of construction was limited to the property south of the existing school site, on seven acres.

The photos below provide a visual tour of the new middle school campus, starting with the library-science building and ending with the academic building.

Second Phase
The second phase will be centered on redefining certain parts of the existing campus. Of particular note is the expanded athletic field that will enable us to have four practice areas on one large field. The phased demolition and construction schedule for the project allows school to remain fully in session while minimizing the impact on the neighborhood. Phase II completion is expected in 2009.
