Peer Support
Since 1991, the Monday night Peer Support program has been open and available to the entire Upper School. Every Monday night, refreshments are provided and students gather to socialize and mingle with each other, creating a greater sense of community among all of the participants. After the socializing, students break into smaller groups to discuss a wide variety of student issues in a confidential setting. These small groups are led by Senior Leaders and also include Junior Trainees. Senior Leaders are trained by Faculty Advisors to serve as mentors to the Junior Trainees within each group.
Peer Tutoring
Peer Tutoring is a student-run organization that pairs students seeking additional academic assistance with student tutors who have exemplified a proficiency in the subject. Tutors apply in the fall and are selected based on a written application and faculty recommendations. When a student requests a peer tutor, the request is filtered to one of five peer tutoring student co-chairs, who then pairs him or her with a tutor based on the academic subject and common schedule availability.
