Financial aid at Harvard-Westlake exists to attract and enroll the best students in Los Angeles regardless of their financial profile. Every grant is need-based and customized to the circumstances of each family.

After that, you will fill in your information and an evaluation will be made. Although Clarity collects information and documents, grants and eligibility are determined by the Financial Aid Committee here at Harvard-Westlake.

Harvard-Westlake offers the following payment plans for families:

  • Annual: Pay in one installment, due on July 1, 2026
  • Semiannual:  Pay in two installments, due on July 1, 2026 and January 1, 2026
  • Quarterly: Pay in four installments, due on July 1, 2026; October 1, 2026; January 1, 2027; and April 1, 2027
  • Monthly: Pay in 10 monthly installments, commencing July 1, 2026 and concluding April 1, 2027

We work in partnership with applicants to tailor financial aid packages that are fair and reasonable for each family and for the school. Greg Gonzalez

Director of Financial Aid

Greg joined Harvard-Westlake in 1994 and has worn many hats during his time at the school. He currently serves as Director of Financial Aid, teaches 10th grade Art History, and advises sophomores. Over the years, you might also have found him in the Dean’s Office, on the football field as a coach, or even on the pool deck as manager of the girls water polo team. A native of Boyle Heights in Los Angeles, Greg earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Columbia University in History and Journalism. Outside of school, Greg enjoys playing tennis, swimming with the Los Angeles Masters Swim Club, and cooking for his family.

Citlaly Madrid

Assistant Director of Financial Aid

Citlaly joined Harvard-Westlake in 2022 and spent her first four years working with the Admission Office and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Team. She now serves as Assistant Director of Financial Aid and is happy to help families navigate an important part of their journey to HW. Before coming to Harvard-Westlake, Citlaly was a high school Spanish teacher in East Los Angeles. She earned her B.A. in Latino/a & Latin American Studies from Occidental College and is currently pursuing her M.A. in Equity, Education and Social Justice at Cal State Long Beach. Outside of work, Citlaly enjoys running and exploring new trails, visiting coffee shops, and spending time with friends. And if you have thoughts on the best matcha in town, she’s always happy to compare notes!
