The performing arts department recognizes the value of artistic expression to the healthy development of the individual and the well-being of society. The study and practice of the performing arts encompasses creativity, technique, fundamental knowledge of classical works, a contemporary perspective, and an understanding of form. Harvard-Westlake’s middle and upper school performing arts programs are dedicated to exploring and nurturing the creative process of students as individual performers and ensemble members.
