QUESTIONS ABOUT COMMENCEMENT:
Where do seniors park during the Senior-Faculty Breakfast & Commencement?
A parking lot has been reserved for Harvard-Westlake seniors and faculty at Los Angeles Valley College (5800 Fulton Ave in Valley Glen). The entrance to the lot is off of Burbank Blvd. Signs and HW personnel will be posted at LAVC to guide people to the parking lot. Alternatively, seniors may carpool with their parents/family to campus. There will be NO student parking on campus.
Where do family and friends of graduates park for Commencement?
There will be limited parking on campus for Commencement guests. Security personnel will be at all campus entrances to assist you. Please follow all Security instructions.
There will be additional parking throughout the neighborhoods surrounding campus. CJL (Security) shuttles will be driving through the neighborhoods on a regular basis to pick up pedestrians who do not want to walk to campus.
I have a handicapped or elderly guest. Where do I park?
If you have handicapped or elderly guests driving separately, please have them enter the school at the north entrance.
Do I need tickets to attend Commencement?
You may invite as many guests as you wish to Commencement and tickets are not required. Seating is on a first come/first served basis, and any notes or signs placed on chairs during the night to reserve seating will be removed on Friday morning. Similarly, notes or signs placed on chairs Friday morning will not reserve a place for you; someone in your party must stay in the seats in order to hold them.
When does Commencement end?
Commencement should conclude at approximately 12:00 p.m. Most families leave campus by 12:30. Seniors must return their robes to Chalmers East and West BEFORE leaving campus. The caps and tassels are theirs to keep.
