Mission Statement

The Learning Center supports the work of faculty, students, and their families through a variety of collaborative efforts. Working closely with teaching faculty, counseling staff, and administration, the Learning Center seeks to develop, enhance, and promote a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all students. The program’s dual mission is to provide academic support for identified students, and to serve as a resource for faculty who work with students with a range of learning strengths and needs.

About the Learning Centers

The Learning Center provides students with resources and opportunities to achieve academic success as well as to improve skills, such as reading, writing, note taking, test taking and study strategies—skills necessary for effective learning.

The Learning Center is open to all students from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. After hours use is available by appointment.

This space is built for students!

Learning Support Program

The Learning Support Program provides students with the support needed to develop effective skills and learning strategies that meet personalized educational goals and enhance their Harvard-Westlake experience.

If your child has a diagnosed learning difference or you are considering educational testing, please contact the Director of the Learning Center on your campus. The first step in the process involves an intake meeting and intervention sessions; if the Learning Center team determines that educational testing is appropriate, we will provide referrals.

Please see the documents under the Educational Testing section for detailed steps and requirements in order to be considered for academic accommodations.
